Long gone are the days when I used to collect stuff...but I still would like to believe that I collect umbrellas, although I only own one, but every time I see a gorgeous one I add it to my visual collection...go figure! So I never stopped admiring beautiful things, like this new watch from the Bulgari Serpenti Watch Collection in Rose Gold. It wraps around your wrist, and if you can also notice that the face of the watch takes the form of the serpent's head(love it)...and another very chic detail is that the little crown has a pink rubellite cabochon placed in it. I love it !

The thing is I don't want to understand human labels: drag queens, club kids, freak chics (which I use it), gay, straight, stupid, smart, trannies...we are all in the same boat, we're all gonna die(yay NeNe)...I dress up how I want in different ways because it is how I translate inner pain and madness to "my" outside world, because it eases my choices in my life...some people call it depression, others use other names, I call it a pure expression of what I want to be that day, or that moment...not that I really care what people that I don't know thinks of me...if I did, I wouldn't leave the house with a Mac Computer monitor in my head...but it is my own therapy, and it is twisted, but somehow in all this I can find happiness.

Reading the reactions to Michael Musto's great post on his blog about my looks, only makes me more fascinated about human misery...people that don't know me, him or Acid Betty have an opinion so radical about the perfection that they want to see or to what they want to believe, so this small drama makes me so happy to be who I am...and that includes my acceptance of others...including their ignorance or perhaps still their own lack of self discovery, which for that what they only need is a clean mirror.

On the negative comments, the only one I have something to say is about the RuPaul's drag race...I wouldn't enter that race because it is not what I am about, but I respect every single one of them for having the drive and skills to be in that great arena and to fight how they can and know for their dreams, I just rather do it other way, and on my own personal race I have no desire to be a star... but I really believe that RuPaul's message for inner beauty is sincere. He walked the walk so he can do the talk. I truly love him for that...

by the way...I am thinking about a new look and it will be: " Anna Wintour's worst nightmare. Horrid! ".

Kymara Lecchi Lonergan invited me to be a part of the big event "JAYNE COUNTY'S MAD TEA PARTY...SEX! ART! MUSIC!" which will be a 3 day party at the Chelsea Hotel starting on April 9th, where not only Jayne County will be performing, but you will be able to see art, music and film of Billy Name, Anton Perich, Christopher Makos, Mick Rock, Prairie Prince, Christopher Lynch, Mary Woronov among others including me(very honored to be invited). Kymara represents Billy Name, the driving force behind New York’s counter culture of the 1960’s and The 'Gate Keeper' and major artistic influence of Andy Warhol’s Silver Factory. She also represents many other artists including Jayne County and in this event you will also see new works by Prairie Prince, Ruby Lynn Reyner, Anton Perich, Miestorm, Milo Rock, Fernando Carpaneda, Ian Couch, Kymara and also Jayne County and Billy Name. Chip Duckett delivered last night a memorable New York moment celebrating a true New York legend in a penthouse filled with New York legends from Robyn Bird, Linda Simpson, Joan Rivers(hosting the night) and even Ronnie Spector...sorry to say but if you were not in that room, I mean in that duplex penthouse, where else could you have been?

They were all there to celebrate Michael Musto's 25th Anniversary at The Village Voice...and as Michael himself said, he had invited 500 people that always support him to celebrate this important date. I think it is correct to say this great writer and that I also like to call a culture observer has contantly given us what we need, and that is valid point of views without the hypocrisy that is everywhere in our society. Michael has smartly accepted his own flaws given him the freedom to discuss whatever comes up in pop culture in the capital of world. Joan Rivers said out and loud in her speech last night that Michael epitomizes what New York is about...I was happy to witness such moment.

I saw people last night that I had seen in a long time, and it was also just great to know Michael's family. His mother Anna Musto was so adorable. For me it was a perfect night with great entertainment by Dirty Martini, Murray Hill, Bridget Everett, Tommy Femia who did a duet with Michael, and the fabulous Talulah De Bayous and Vodka Stinger...and for those who are wondering, yes Michael has class, it is old and the right school, if he invites you to such type of party...the cocktails and the hors d'oeuvres are on the house! But I just couldn't taste anything...you know how it is when you have a severe make up look and it is also dieting time!

I finally was able to start reading "The Last Mrs. Astor" by Frances Kiernan. Brooke Astor needs no introduction of course, and this paragraph above in the book is so beautiful.

Many years ago Michele Duvalier said in an interview that the entire government palace in PAP was air-conditioned "because one cannot live in Port au Prince without air-conditioning". Michele was the First Lady of Haiti from 1980 to 1986. She was being interviewed by Barbara Walters. Today she lives in France and uses her single name Michelle Bennett, since she is no longer married to Jean-Claude Duvalier who was the ruler of Haiti since 1971, he was deposed in 1986.

Almost 30 years ago, things have not changed a bit...blame it on a complete corrupted mentality, it is sad to say but every year much of the humanitarian aid is still pocketed by officials. Above 75% of the population continue to live under the poverty line.

This week commercial flights were allowed to resume operations in Haiti. So I worked a flight to Port au Prince almost 6 weeks after a massive earthquake that has probably killed 250,000 people and left hundreds of thousands completely homeless.

The flight was full of rescue workers that were going back again, since some institutions take turns in their missions. A lot of supplies were brought aboard. I am very happy to know that most of the donations are really getting to where they are supposed to be going to, and they are not being handling by local officials.

In the flight there were lots of Haitians that have not being able to return since the day the earthquake hit their home. These were people that were coming back to their loved ones...some would have relatives waiting there for them...some would have nobody waiting..It was a very emotional situation, these people have spent a life of struggle caused by human greed, and sometimes by natural causes. And yet I still could feel their warm, love and appreciation for simple things in life. Very interesting on the flight back from Haiti was to be able to be talking to people that were not hurt during the earthquake but also couldn't leave Haiti. A woman told me on the flight back that what she missed things that she complains about every year...and she mentioned snow !

I will not post explicit photos of this human tragedy, because I honestly think that some things are not meant not be over exposed...at least by ME.

New York Fashion week

This was my favorite show of Brazilian designer Alexandre Herchcovitch, with Russian references(Sergei Paradjanov), the clothes were luxurious without being too ostentatious, the silhouette in some of the pieces gave me hope, that one day I could fit in one his main show creations. Sophia Lamar(red head piece,see photo) was also very excited about it.

If "Dawn" (Jessica Lange) would have worn anything from The Blonds Fall 2010 collection in the King Kong movie, maybe the movie would have had a different ending ...meaning that the monkey would have made sure that anything she wore would have been untouchable still, since they were so gorgeous.It was a show that included performance, drama and beautiful clothes. Phillipe Blond first look in the show was a monkey suit, once the suit came down, Phillipe stood there looking so stunning, bringing down the house to its knees...a beautiful and clever entrance that was followed by several dresses and corsets perfectly made and exquisite shoes & jewelry. I want them all !
