25 years of naomi campbeLL

You might completely despise her now but the truth is that Naomi Campbell is a real fashion icon, so her friends designer duo Dolce & Gabbana will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Naomi's career with a limited edition of 14 t-shirts and a super party in New York City on September 10th to launch it. The shirts display images of Naomi by Mario Testino, Steven Meisel, Herb Ritts, Bruce Weber, Steven Klein, Peter Lindbergh, David LaChapelle, Ellen von Unwerth and Patrick Demarchelier. The proceeds from the sale of the shirts will benefit Naomi's charity "Fashion for Relief" and it will first available at the Dolce & Gabbana boutiques in New York on September 10th, then London, Milan, Paris, Moscow, Beijing, Hong Kong and Shangai.

starting my day with patrick mcdonald and garo sparo

Patrick McDonald and I had breakfast this morning in our favorite NYC cafe: Life Cafe, we try to do it as often as we can to keep the news updated...he is such a dear friend and just a great person...so after a very fun two hours of good coffee and eggs, we walked to the studio of fashion designer Garo Sparo, which is just half a block down. Garo is a sweet and  very talented man, his list of clients include Madonna and Kylie Minogue, just to name a few. His skin is so perfect that Patrick said "Garo's skin is poreless and his clothes are seamless" ... and all I can say is this was a great way to start my day !

blondie tonight at the nokia theater

Tonight Blondie's Debby Harry and the band Gorevette will perform at the Nokia Theather Times Square, with an after party following at the same location with sounds by DJs Guy Furrow(Toilet Boys lead singer) and the ultra fabulous Lady Bunny. The show starts at 8pm and doors open at 7pm. This is a true New York night event and you should absolutely go...if you can of course still get tickets !

According to Internet rumors, British photographer Corinne Day has passed away. Corinne was an iconic photographer whose camera lens was behind the first shots of the Kate Moss when she was unknown at age 15, the photos were taken for The Face in July 1990, and it was styled by Melanie Ward. Day had been suffering for the past years of a brain tumor, and she wasn't able to work last year, which prompted Kate Moss to raise funds for her very expensive treatments.

aNNa wintour and grace coDDington: take them home !

Starting on August 31, you will be able to bid on a chance to take home Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington...well, I mean to take home one of a kind painted dolls of the two powerful fashion women. Barneys New York commissioned artist Andrew Yang who spent two weeks to make these little treasures. Charitybuzz.com is doing the auction and the proceeds will benefit the New York City AIDS fund. Both dolls are wearing designs by Andrew  who believes it would have been unfair to all designers if the dolls were wearing a creation by a specific designer. Fashion Night Out is starting full force this time around...

gaetano pesce for meliSSa

I know this has been out for a while, but I just can't help to love the collaboration between Brazilian brand Melissa and the fabulous Italian and NY based architect, artist and designer Gaetano Pesce; So brilliant and it  just raises the bar for personalization. It is an ankle boot formed by interconnected circles and all you need is a pair of scissors to make it  your own style by cutting the edges; you can turn the boot to a bootie, to a ballet flap, to a peep toe, to a sandal, to a flip flop....I don't think you can go back once it is cut(lol)...but the all idea is very original and it is the most revolutionary shoe done by Melissa. Too bad you can't find it in high heels.

camiLLe jones - the crEEps

Make me take the ride
Free drinks on tonight
Take some have a feast
Break me 'cause it keeps coming...

Down on either side
Bleeding in my mind
Waiting for the creeps
To kill my last believes

So come on down to the creeps
Come on down to the creeps
Come on

Holding back the key
Fading sanity
Blowing up my head
Reaching for my always loving...

Partner in crime
Soaking up my mind
Filling up my glass
I'm gone, at last

Come on down to the creeps
Come on down to the creeps
Come on

Walking to the claim
The creeps calling my name
They get me every-time
I'm bleeding and I'm getting

We go split before my eyes
Increase, double size
Lease out my brain
Am I insane

Come on down to the creeps
Come on down to the creeps
Come on

transformations by mike ruiz

" Oh my God, they are still coming! ", that's what I heard from two cute guys as I finally made it to Leslie Lohman last night for the last 30 minutes of Transformations, the opening of the solo exhibition of photographer Mike Ruiz. If when I got there it was still packed....one can only imagine what a mad house it was earlier, the event was being filmed for TV, and that's reason enough to get a lot of people in search of press out of the house, when I was going up the front stairs...the camera crew was exiting followed by some hopefuls(lol) ...but back to Mike, he is a very well known fashion photographer and I must say a very pleasant and polite person to be around; the photos of his show are of course extremely recognizable of some of his style, very sensual classy fashionable nudes and strong portraits. I personally like when he approaches the surrealism. Mike has photographed everybody, from Brooke Shields to RuPaul and his work has been  featured in several high fashion magazines.
